- OnePlus Ace 5 Series is due to arrive by the end of this year as per tipster DCS.
- OnePlus will skip the number '4' as it is considered a bad omen in China proceeding with the Ace 5 Series.
- The vanilla Ace 5 will be rebranded as OnePlus 13R and launch globally early next year.
OnePlus Ace 3 arrived in China earlier last month and cut to now, we are hearing about OnePlus Ace 5 Series in the works. Apparently, there are two Ace 5 phones in the pipeline i.e., Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro slated to launch earlier than before. Chinese brands skip the number ‘4’ as it is considered an omen in their cultures. With that being said, let’s dive into what we know about the Ace 5 Series which is probably the first time we are hearing about them.
OnePlus Ace 5 Series Could Share Stage With OnePlus 13 in China
Tipster Digital Chat Station (or DCS) is known for some of the most accurate leaks and thus, he has a gravitas on such stories. With that, his latest post reveals the OnePlus Ace 5 Series is in the works. These will be the successor to Ace 3 and Ace 3 Pro powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, respectively.
As per the leaks, the OnePlus Ace 5 Series will follow in the footsteps of the Ace 3 Series as it gears up for launch by the end of this year. It includes a high-end chipset aka the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC which is yet to be released. We won’t be surprised if Ace 5 comes with SD8 Gen3 (same as Ace 3 Pro) while the Ace 5 Pro picks up the newer SD8 Gen4 instead. There’s an ultra-large silicon battery aka OnePlus’ Glacier Technology in the pipeline that gives Ace 5 Series larger battery capacity without increasing the size of the battery pack.
The OnePlus Ace 3 received a rebranding as the OnePlus 12R as it made its global debut earlier this year. Ace 5 will be christened as OnePlus 13R while Ace 5 Pro might not see the light of day outside its home country. The usual flagship aka the OnePlus 13 is incoming as well and will launch sometime in October or November in China sporting a Snapdragon 8 Gen4 under the hood. It will make its global debut a few months later aka January 2025 if everything aligns the way OnePlus 12 did earlier this year.
