OnePlus has officially unveiled two new additions to its performance-focused Ace series in China, the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra and the OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition. These devices bring high-performance hardware, sleek design, and advanced gaming and cooling features.
Displays
Both devices feature AMOLED screens with smooth, high refresh rates optimized for gaming and content consumption. The OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra boasts a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display supporting a 144Hz adaptive refresh rate, peaking at 1400 nits brightness. Meanwhile, the Ace 5 Racing Edition comes with a slightly smaller 6.77-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1300 nits peak brightness.
Performance
Under the hood, OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra is powered by MediaTek’s flagship Dimensity 9400+ chipset, built on a 3 nm process, paired with the Immortalis-G925 GPU. The Racing Edition, on the other hand, is equipped with the efficient Dimensity 9400e, based on a 4 nm process, and comes with the Immortalis-G720 MC12 GPU.
Both devices incorporate OnePlus’ Fengchi gaming core and Lingxi touch chip for gaming responsiveness and frame stability. The company claims consistent native 120fps gameplay and 1% low frame rate reduction.
Cooling system
Thermal management is a focal point of these smartphones. The Ace 5 Ultra introduces a new Glacier Cooling System featuring a 7300 mm² vapor chamber (VC) and an additional 4000 mm² cooling area on the back, designed to maintain performance during intensive use.
The Racing Edition uses an even larger, 29772 mm² overall heat dissipation area, with a 7000+mm² Super VC to help keep the chipset and battery temperature in check during demanding tasks.
Battery and charging
Battery capacity is a standout feature in this launch. The Ace 5 Ultra houses a 6700mAh battery and supports 100W SuperVOOC fast charging. The Racing Edition ups the ante with a massive, 7100mAh battery with 80W flash charging.
Camera
Both models sport a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and 4K 60fps video recording. The Ultra includes a Sony IMX906 sensor, paired with an 8MP ultra-wide lens, while the Racing Edition is accompanied by a 2MP monochrome sensor.
Software
On the software front, the phones run Android 15-based ColorOS 15, and include features such as a customizable shortcut key for quick actions like translation, screen recording, and mute.
Additional features
Both devices offer 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, dual SIM support, NFC, and an in-display optical fingerprint sensor. They are also equipped with infrared sensors, stereo speakers, and USB Type-C audio output.
