OnePlus announced on their social media handles that they will be holding an event next year, at CES 2020. The event will be held at Wynn Luxury Resort in Las Vegas, and OnePlus will be showcasing its products from 7th to 10th of January. Till now, it was expected that OnePlus will be announcing and showcasing the upcoming OnePlus 8 Lite smartphone along with a OnePlus TV. Interestingly, OnePlus has shared a short teaser video on Weibo, which suggests a few more announcements will be made at the event.
The 3-second short video shows nothing much but just “ONEPLUS CONCEPT ONE” is written in the top right corner, along with some Chinese text on the bottom left which translates to “variable design, variable future”. It is still unknown whether the Concept One is related to mobile phones or TVs. We guess it can be a future concept smartphone, related to the advancements in displays we are seeing these days like on the Mi Max Alpha and Samsung Galaxy Fold. But, these are just guesses. OnePlus also recently celebrated its 6th anniversary, so can we expect an anniversary special product?
The OnePlus 8 Lite smartphone is expected to be launched during the event. Judging by its name, we guess it has nothing to do with the Concept One. According to some leaks, the phone will be powered by Mediatek Dimensity 1000 Soc, which supports 5G. On the back, it will have a dual-camera setup, and a punch-hole camera will be present on the front.
OnePlus is also expected to announce OnePlus Pay payment technology during the event to rival some of its counterparts like the Mi Pay, Samsung Pay, etc. So to sum things up, OnePlus 8 series smartphones, a 5G phone, OnePlus TV, and OnePlus Pay are expected to be announced at CES 2020 next year. Do take this with a pinch of salt as all of them may not see the light of the day.
