Today we saw the unveiling of the OnePlus X in London. They’re bringing a new phone with about the same specs as the original OnePlus One. But, this time around it has a smaller 5-inch screen, and it’s now also entering the arena with Sony and Samsung. Do you want to know more about this device, read on.

OnePlus X price

As for the price of the OnePlus X, it’ll of course be depending on which model you choose. This time around they’ve got 2 models, the OnePlus X Onyx, which will be available for $249 in the US or €269 in Europe. There’s also a limited edition OnePlus X with a Ceramic back. This device will be available for £269. Only 10.000 of them will be made.

OnePlus X release date

The release date for the OnePlus X is on the 5th of November in Europe, and 19 November in the US. And, of course you’ll need to have an invite to buy the OnePlus X.

OnePlus X specs

The rumors for a OnePlus X started a while back, but we already suspected that the device would be powered by the same SD 801 as we’ve got in the OnePlus One, it’s clocked at 2,3GHz this time though. The SoC is supported by 3GB of RAM, and of course the Adreno 330 GPU. The internal storage is only 16GB, but you’ll be able to expand the storage up to 128GB with a microSD card.

This time around OnePlus doesn’t use a IPS display made by JDI, but they went shopping over at Samsung for a Full-HD (1920 x 1080P) AMOLED display. The display has a PPI of 441, and all of this is protected by Gorilla Glass 3

If we’re looking at the camera department, the OnePlus X has a 13MP shooter at the back with a f/2.2 aperture. The camera doesn’t have OIS or optical image stabilization. As for the video department, the camera can shoot 1080P videos in normal shooting mode. Slow-motion videos will be made in a 720P resolution and 120 fps.

When we’ve got a look to the battery, I must say that OnePlus knows how to put some juice in a phone of this size. The device has a 2525mAh LiPo battery.

OnePlus X design

Just like it was with the OnePlus two, the frame is made out of metal, and depending on the version, the device has a glass or ceramic back and front. The rounded edges of this device give it a nice feel in your hands. The OnePlus X Onyx with glass at the front and back weights around 138g, and the ceramic one weighs about 22g more.

The OnePlus X also has some of it features from its older brother. The OnePlus 2, and if we’re looking into that matter, we’re talking about the alert slider specifically.

The slot for your SIM cars or microSD card is just above the volume rockers. Just like the competitors of the OnePlus X, like devices from Huawei and Honor, this device accepts 2 SIM cards, or you can use one SIM card and a microSD card. And, while the OnePlus 2 had a USB type C connector, this isn’t there in the OnePlus X.

I hope you liked to read it, leave suggestions for me in the comments what I can do next time. I hope to see you soon, at your source for all things, tech!
