OnePlus has finally launched their much-awaited flagship smartphone of 2018 at an event in Mumbai. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer unveiled three products – OnePlus 6, OnePlus Bullet wireless headphones and yes! OnePlus 6 Avengers Limited Edition. OnePlus devices are very well known for their top-of-the-line specs and an affordable price tag.
With the immense success of OnePlus 5T, our expectations from this year flagship device increases. And, it seems like the brand pulled it off perfectly with almost everything a consumer would want. OnePlus 6 is the best smartphone you can get in 2018 which has the perfect price to specs ratio. Let’s have a look at what the successor of OnePlus 5T has in store for us.
OnePlus 6 features and specifications
The new device comes with a 6.3-inch full-HD+ AMOLED screen with an aspect ratio of 19:9 and 1080×2280 display resolution. The best part about the screen is the minimal bezels at top and sides making it possible to have a screen-to-body ratio of 83.8%. It is worth noting that the OnePlus 6 comes with a larger display without making any compromise on the phone size as compared to the previous generation OnePlus 5T. There is a notch on the display which houses the selfie camera, earpiece, proximity and ambient light sensors. The selfie camera is right at the center of the screen for the perfect symmetry.
It is powered by a faster Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC clocked at 2.8GHz coupled with an Adreno 630 GPU. The device is available in two storage variants – 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage and 8GB RAM/ 128GB storage. None of the variants supports Micro SD card.
Apart from the display, the firm has greatly improved the rear cameras. You’ll get the dual camera setup at the back having a primary 16MP sensor with f/1.7 aperture and a secondary 20MP camera sensor with f/1.7 aperture. The rear cameras now support both OIS and EIS which is a great addition. You’ll be able to shoot videos at 4k up to 60fps as well as shoot slow-motion HD videos at 480fps, all thanks to the SD845 processor. There is a 16MP front camera sensor with f/2.0 aperture. The selfie camera is same as the one found in the previous OnePlus 5T.
OnePlus 6 runs on the latest version of Oxygen OS over Android 8.1.1 Oreo out of the box. It’s disappointing to see no wireless charging support even though the device has a glass back. Other specifications include Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB Type-C. Now coming to the battery, there’s a 3300mah non-replaceable battery which supports an even faster dash charging. OnePlus claims that you’ll get enough charge for the day in just 30 minutes.
All of the above specs are packed inside a glass body of 155.7 x 75.4 x 7.8 mm dimensions weighing 177 gm.
OnePlus 6 Avengers Limited Edition
If you’re a Marvel fan then OnePlus has a special limited edition for you – OnePlus 6 Avengers Limited Edition. This edition comes with the same specifications as compared to the regular OnePlus 6. Although, it comes only in 8GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage.
The Avenger edition comes with the patterned back having a fiber inside the Gorilla Glass 5. The back looks similar to the aramid fiber which is a strong synthetic material used by the military for body armor. At the back, there is a OnePlus logo and Avengers logo both in gold color. Other than that, the alert slider on the right side also has the gold color coating.
Inside the box, you’ll get an Iron Man case which is one of the coolest back cases you’ll see.
