Highlights
  • Oppo Find X8 is slated to arrive with a MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC.
  • It will be based on TSMC's 2nd-gen N3 process and would arrive the same time as Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC.
  • The Find X8 Series will share the stage alongside Vivo X200 series, OnePlus 13, among others in the flagship segment.

Recently, tipster Digital Chat Station spilled a few beans about the upcoming Oppo Find X8 as it gears up for its launch in December. The leak mentions several key features for the upcoming flagship that you must know if you are waiting.

Oppo Find X8 to use MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC

As one would have guessed, Oppo Find X8 is slated to pick up a Dimensity 9400 SoC from MediaTek. This is a successor to last year’s Dimensity 9300 SoC that we saw in Find X7 as well. The new chipset is said to be built on TSMC’s 2nd-gen N3 process around the same time when Qualcomm launches its Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. MediaTek’s flagship chipset is slated to compete head-on with Qualcomm’s although that remains to be seen how it performs in the real-world tests.

Moving on, Oppo Find X8 is likely to sport a 6.5” LTPO panel with 1.5K resolution. If you are unaware, Oppo Find X7 has a 6.78” LTPO panel with a 1264×2780 pixels resolution and it is curved. The question is, whether Find X8’s display is curved or flat.

DCS further mentions that Find X8 will sport a triple rear camera with a 50MP Sony primary snapper and a large 1/1.4” sensor size. There’s a 3x periscope lens in the rear camera array as well. Above all, Oppo has partnered with Hasselblad for processing onboard Find X8 as well so that you get excellent photography on a smartphone.

There’s a Find X8 Pro is in the works as well, likely to be powered by the same chipset, plus quad-camera dual periscope setup. Just like Oppo, Vivo is preparing for its next-gen flagship launch with the X200 series that will host the same MediaTek chipset as Find X8 so we should see a fair (probably brutal) competition between the flagships later this year.

Oppo Find X8 series will be launched alongside Xiaomi 15 Series, Vivo X200 Series, OnePlus 13, among others.
