These two models are the first Turbo-branded phones from Oppo, and of course, they are equipped with a built-in cooling fan for cooling while still being certified as waterproof. Here’s the take on the launch, should you decide to buy them, but you have to be in China (or source it) to own ‘em.
Oppo K13 Turbo series: The fan-cooled smartphones with RGB lighting
We got our hands on the Oppo K13 Turbo and K13 Turbo Pro today in China. Apart from a few minor differences in terms of the motherboard and components, both of these models are almost identical, so here are the specs you need to know.
Oppo K13 Turbo series sports a 6.8” LTPS OLED panel with a resolution of 1.5K and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The devices sport a 16MP Sony IMX480 snapper at the front and a 50MP OmniVision OV50D40 primary snapper with OIS and a 2MP depth snapper at the back. This remains the same for both models.
Under the hood, Oppo K13 Turbo sports a Dimensity 8450 SoC with UFS 3.1 storage and Wi-Fi 6. On the other hand, K13 Turbo Pro packs in a Snapdragon 8s Gen4 SoC, LPDDR5X RAM, Wi-Fi 7, UFS 4.0, and OIS on the camera. There’s also a built-in cooling fan with RGB lighting on the duo, marketed as ‘waterproof’ in this segment. We see Android 15-powered ColorOS 15 taking care of the software front of the duo.
When it comes to the power, we see a beefy 7,000mAh battery under the hood paired with 80W fast charging tech on the duo. The devices enjoy IPX9, IPX8, and IPX6 water resistance and thus, the above-mentioned marketing tag that comes with it.
The cooling chamber under the hood is its USP. Oppo K13 Turbo series has a self-developed cooling engine using something called Wind Tunnel technology. With a built-in fan and a vapor chamber measuring 7,000 sqmm, the system can dissipate 20% more heat than existing devices. This is essential for performance as heat can lower it, and dissipating it triggers a spike in performance.
We are likely to see OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra based on K13 Turbo as well.
