Samsung introduced a curved edge Galaxy S6 Edge back in April 2015 and since then, it has been followed for all S-series and Note Series either as a complementary model or the base models and so on, however, there has been little to no improvements over to it. But it is all gonna change with the latest tech released by Oppo. The Chinese tech giant showcased a phone with a unique waterfall screen which has a curve of 88-degrees around its right and left bezel thereby reducing the bezels drastically while enhancing the screen-to-body ratio further.

Nearing 100% screen-to-body ratio, the new screen technology was showcased by Oppo’s VP Brian Shen on Chinese social networking site Weibo and soon, it was picked up by a slew of tech bloggers and media representatives around the globe and it has become a sensation from a smartphone company which never fails to innovate may it be with its under-the-display camera to UD fingerprint to pop-up mechanism for its front and rear cameras and so on.

The curved display shows a refined screen with practically invisible bezels around its top and bottom while the screen is curled backward with a declination of 88° and thus, there is no visible bezel around its right and left edges which is something new.

The phone takes the curvedness of Oppo’s Find X to the next level. There isn’t any front-camera model which means it could be either a UD camera or a pop-up mechanism since Oppo never fails to surprise its community similar to how it experimented with a bizarre shark fin-shaped front-camera module that pops up when the user asks for the front-camera just like that. Anywhere, the images don’t show the back panel of the phone which means we are still shrouded in mystery.

A previous glass piece showcased a similar design which hints that Oppo could use a similar curved front display technology in its upcoming NEX 3 flagship smartphone that would get Snapdragon 855 SoC among other high-end specifications.
