Razer, one of the giant gaming hardware company, is now working on their next-generation gaming smartphone to be called Razer Phone 2. In ChinaJoy 2018, Chen Xiaoping (the Global VP of the brand), confirmed the existence of the device and also tipped us with its expected launch timeline. Well, the smartphone is going to launch by the end of 2018 that’s for sure.

Razer Phone 2 just made its appearance on the GeekBench revealing bits of it. As per the GeekBench listing, the smartphone will come with Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 845 chipset paired with a massive 8GB of RAM. Although if you look at the image closely, you’ll not find this SoC listed by name. But, the identifier looks the same when compared to other SD845 powered devices.

This listing contradicts the previous report which suggested the upcoming Snapdragon 855 processor. Coming to the scores, the device got 2026 in the single core and 8234 in multi-core category. Both the scores look somewhat lower than the other competitor’s offering. But it is still an early stage to completely consider this scores since there is a high chance that the device might be in development.

Speaking of Operating System, the device might run on the previous version of Android i.e. Android Oreo. Although, the update for Android Pie would arrive soon after the announcement. Apart from that, the device would come with a 7.1 surround sound for a better experience. It’s still pretty early for the device so we’re expecting more leaks to come forward.

To recall, the first-gen Razer Phone comes with a 5.7-inch QHD IGZO LCD display having a 120 Hz refresh rate. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset coupled with 8GB of RAM. All of this runs on a massive 4,000 mAh battery packed inside supporting Quick Charge 4+.
