The realme GT8 series launched in China today, and the new lineup includes the realme GT8 and realme GT8 Pro smartphones. Unveiled at a special event, the new flagship lineup brings premium specifications, advanced camera technology co-engineered with Ricoh Imaging, and a new design aimed at power users and photography lovers.

Display and design
Both the realme GT8 and GT8 Pro come with a 6.79-inch 2K (1440×3136) Sky Dome OLED screen which offers a 144Hz refresh rate and 3200Hz instant touch response. Made with Q10 + BOE Custom Luminous Materials, the display hits 7000 nits peak brightness for clear viewing in sunlight. It also supports hardware-level DC dimming and a 1-nit ultra-dark mode for better eye comfort, along with True Color protection features.
The GT8 Pro introduces a new mechanical assembly design, the first in the industry with a detachable, customizable Deco module that lets users change the lens housing for a personalized style. It comes in White (AG frosted glass), Green, and Blue with eco-friendly recycled leather finishes.
Performance and cooling
Inside, the realme GT8 series is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB UFS 4.1 storage. It features realme’s biggest 7000mm² Ultra-Coverage Cold Front Cooling VC system which provides 30% more thermal coverage than previous generation.
The built-in R1 graphics chip enables super-frame and super-resolution rendering in over 100 mobile games, supporting native 2K at 120FPS and smooth 144Hz gameplay in top shooters. Dual 1115E symmetrical speakers with N’Bass boost and an 0816 AAC Ultra-Wideband Pulse Motor provide rich sound and precise haptics for an immersive gaming experience.
Camera system co-engineered with Ricoh
A key feature of the GT8 Pro is its camera partnership with Ricoh Imaging Company, known for the GR series. It includes a Ricoh GR Mode that delivers a classic shooting experience with Snap Mode, Viewfinder Mode, and five GR-inspired color tones filters, like Positive Film and High-Contrast B&W.
The GT8 Pro packs a 200MP Ultra-Light and Shadow Periscope Telephoto Camera with 3x optical and 6x lossless zoom, alongside a 50MP Ricoh GR main lens and a 50MP ultra-wide. The standard GT8 includes a 50MP Ricoh GR main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 50MP 3.5x periscope telephoto lens. For selfies, the GT8 Pro has a 32MP front camera, while the GT8 uses a 16MP sensor.
Battery and charging
Both phones feature a 7000mAh second-generation Titan battery for extended use. The GT8 supports 100W fast charging, while the GT8 Pro adds 120W wired and 50W wireless flash charging, reaching 50% in just 15 minutes.
The phones also feature realme’s Sky Communication System with the Sky S1 signal chip to boost mobile gaming signal strength by 25%. They support Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, and 21 global 5G bands for wide-ranging connectivity.
Software and durability
Powered by Android 16 and realme UI 7.0, both phones offer strong protection with IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, making them resistant to dust and water for tough everyday use.
