Chinese smartphone maker Realme has just embarked on a new journey with a new series – the Realme Note series. With that, we already have the first-ever launch – the Realme Note 50 and Realme has confirmed two more Note devices set to arrive later this year.

Realme Note 50 arrived in the Philippines with a 6.74” IPS LCD HD+ panel boasting a 90Hz refresh rate. The display has a U-shaped notch featuring its 5MP front camera. Apart from that, the display is rated at 560 nits of peak brightness, 180Hz of touch sampling rate, and has average-sized bezels around the edges.

The new entrant has Unisoc T612 SoC under the hood paired with 64GB storage and 4GB of RAM. Flip the phone and you get a dual-tone back panel with a glossy area surrounding the rear cameras while the rest of the panel is matte. In terms of optics, we have a 13MP primary plus QVGA secondary sensor onboard with a flash taking up the third camera lens. It’s easy to misunderstand the Realme Note 50 with a triple camera setup.

Under the chassis, the phone sports a beefy 5,000mAh battery paired with a standard 10W charging setup. Fortunately, the phone has an IP54 dust and water resistance which is way more than what budget phones carry. For the unversed, the phone made its debut in the Philippines at a price tag of PHP 3,600 or $65. In terms of color options, you can choose between Midnight Black and Sky Blue (I’d choose the black version though). Finally, there’s a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a headphone jack to name a few features.

Realme hasn’t confirmed its international availability at the time of launch. With a new series and Realme’s target to reach 10 sales in 2024, we could see Realme Note 50 joining the global catalogue along with two more Realme Note devices.
