Xiaomi didn’t lift the wraps over the upcoming Redmi K70 Ultra just yet. It has already wrapped up with Redmi K70, K70 Pro, and K70E launches, and that leaves us with a single model awaiting its arrival. I am talking about the Xiaomi K70 Ultra whose specifications were recently spotted on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo.
Xiaomi Redmi K70 Ultra Key Specs Leaks
The Weibo post mentions a 1.5K LTPO OLED panel sourced from Huaxing Optoelectronics with a buzzing refresh rate of 144Hz. The phone will see a Dimensity 9300 Plus SoC under the hood alongside an X7 independent display chip. As usual, Redmi K70 Ultra is unlikely to debut outside China but that doesn’t mean Xiaomi won’t play its rebranding game. Turns out the Redmi K70 Ultra is likely to be rebadged as Xiaomi Redmi 14T Pro.
You might ask, how do we know that? Well, it’s sci…. Not really. Last year’s Redmi K60 Ultra was rebranded as Redmi 13T Pro and if that’s what Xiaomi will follow (which it will), we are awaiting a Redmi 14T Pro in the global markets. It also makes sense since the Redmi K60 Ultra/ 13T Pro had a Dimensity 9200+ SoC under the hood.
Moving on, we have up to 24GB of LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage at up to 1TB. Call that a beast and I wouldn’t deny it, right?
Next up, the Redmi K70 Ultra (or Redmi 14T Pro) will pack in a ginormous 5,500mAh battery (10% higher than the predecessor). It has a 120W fast charging tech onboard as well.
The Xiaomi Redmi K70 Ultra key specs leak mentions changes to the camera setup as well (and not primarily in a good way). The thing is, K70 Ultra (14T Pro) is speculated to receive a 23mm OmniVision OV50H snapper, a 3x 75mm telephoto OV50D snapper, and a 16mm OV13 ultrawide snapper. For context, this makes K70 Ultra’s speculated optics specs fall behind the K60 Ultra which had a slightly wide ultrawide cam and a wider primary can as well.
Lastly, the K70 Ultra is expected to arrive with a glass back and a metal middle frame. An IP68 water and dust resistance should give the phone a major plus point along with a short-focus fingerprint sensor.
Last year, we saw a month’s gap between K60 Ultra (August 2023) and 13T Pro (September) so we are hoping to see this happening with K70 Ultra and 14T Pro as well. However, take these leaked Redmi K70 key specs with a pinch of salt at this point in time as things might change as we move forward.
