The much-hyped Reliance JioPhone is now being shipped to the customers who had pre-booked the phone. The JioPhone was made available for pre-booking last month on August 24 and was first announced during the Reliance Industries AGM meeting back in July this year. The company kept the effective price zero to further expand its reach.

This news comes straight from a report by PTI that cites Reliance Jio Partner as the source. As per the report, the JioPhone deliveries had started on Sunday and Reliance’s official @LYF_In Twitter account had confirmed this via a tweet.

Reliance made the JioPhone available for a pre-booking price of Rs. 500 and the rest of the amount from the total of Rs. 1,500 was to be paid at the time of the delivery. Reliance informed that it is taking this amount as a security deposit and will be returned to the customer after three years, bringing the effective cost for the customer down to zero.

According to the report, the deliveries will start from the rural areas and small towns to bridge the connectivity gap between the urban and rural areas. With that, 6 million deliveries will be made in the first go and they will be completed within 10-15 days. The details of the second round of pre-bookings haven’t been revealed yet.

How to track JioPhone delivery?

Reliance has provided a bunch of ways by which you can track your JioPhone order both online and offline. The best is to use the MyJio app to track your order. You must be logged on with your Jio number you had used to pre-book the phone. The pre-booking details can be entered in the Track Order section and there you will be able to see its status.

Apart from this, you can also call the Jio customer care on 1800 890 8900 to get the delivery details of your JioPhone. And in case you booked the JioPhone offline, you can head to the same store and inquire about the status.
