With the launch date nearing, we’ve been seeing quite a lot of leaks and speculations around the upcoming Samsung devices. As we have already covered, Samsung is supposedly planning to release a couple of devices including Galaxy Note 20 series, Galaxy Flip 5G, Galaxy Tab S7 series, Galaxy Watch 3, Buds X, and etc. Samsung might also unveil the most anticipated Galaxy Fold 2 in the same event on August 5, 2020. The display sizes and renders of the Galaxy Tab S7 series were all over the internet yesterday and now, new information comes to us from South Korea which confirms that the Galaxy Fold 2 will feature larger displays than its predecessor.

The information comes to us from ETNews. According to the reports, the exterior display of the Galaxy Fold 2 is 6.23-inch and the interior panel here is 7.7-inches. That is 1.63 inch and 0.43 inch larger than the ones found of the original Galaxy Fold. Previous reports also suggested that the Galaxy Fold 2 will not feature the S-Pen. Another improvement here is that the Galaxy Fold 2 uses UTG (Ultra-Thin Glass) instead of CPI Glass (Colorless Polymide). This glass is currently only found on the Galaxy Z Flip.

Last year’s Galaxy Fold is not a huge success. Despite having a unique design and form-factor it has failed to impress a lot of consumers because of its durability. Rumors suggest that Samsung would still keep the design the same with book-like form but with better durability. The recent reports also confirm that there will be no support for the S-Pen this time according to the Korean publication The Elec. The Galaxy Fold 2 is expected to come with a 120 Hz display refresh rate. According to the publication, the company did not develop the display that could take the pressure of S-Pen tapping it. We can expect the S-Pen with Galaxy Fold 3 as the recent reports also suggest that Samsung has recently partnered with Corning to develop an ultra-thin glass.
