Samsung Galaxy S24/ S24+ Specifications: Everything You Need To Know
The Design & Display
Picking up the tab for the Samsung Galaxy S24+, the phone is a sweetheart. The S24+ or S24 Plus, packs in a 6.7” flat QHD+ resolution display taking it closer to S24 Ultra but targeting a lower price tag.
The phone is 0.3mm narrower, 0.1mm thicker, and 0.7mm taller compared to the S23+ while carrying the same weight. Both phones stick to an aluminum build when the Ultra upgraded to a titanium frame. There’s Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on top and both the devices are IP68 rated for protection against water and dust.
The Galaxy S24 takes on a slightly smaller 6.2” FHD+ LTPO display with a 1-120Hz variable refresh rate and a peak brightness of 2,600 nits similar to the S24 Ultra.
The Performance
Moving on, the phone picks up Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in some regions while others get a brand-new Exynos 2400 SoC. We have seen Snapdragon SoC in action so it remains to be seen how it compares with the Exynos iteration once the reviews are out.
The Software
On the software end, Galaxy S24+ runs on OneUI 6.1 on top of Android 14 out-of-the-box. It is the same on the Galaxy S24 as well. Samsung has announced the entire Galaxy S24 series will get 7 generations of OS updates plus 7 years of security patches. That’s huge, to be honest.
The Camera
On the optics front, we have a 50MP primary with OIS, a 12MP ultrawide with 120° plus a 10MP telephoto shooter with 3x optical zoom. As usual, the Galaxy S24+ doesn’t have any camera island and rather the three shooters rise a bit above the back panel with a circular ring covering the edges. Finally, the front cam is a 12MP with f/2.2 with 80° FoV. Both Galaxy S24 and S24+ use the same camera setup.
The Battery
That’s surprising given the fact that the S24+ sports a 4,900mAh battery compared to 4,700mAh on the S23+. Here, the Galaxy S24 has received a slightly larger battery as well at 100mAh or 4,000mAh (from 3,900mAh on S23). Galaxy S24+ gets 45W wired, 15W wireless Qi charging, and 4.5W reverse charging while S24 caps at 25W wired.
The Features
When it comes to the features, we have stereo speakers tuned by AKG, GPS, NFC, USB-C 3.2, under-display fingerprint scanner, Wi-Fi 7 tri-band, and Bluetooth v5.3.
