Highlights
  • Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra design appears to get some major design changes including a camera bump akin to Galaxy Z Fold7 5G.
  • We got our hands on a fan-made render that might materialize into reality once the phone launches early next year.
  • Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will bring a Snapdragon 8 Elite2 SoC, 5500mAh battery, and 60W fast charging among others.

If reports are to be believed, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra design is likely to undergo significant changes compared to its previous generation. Tipster Ice Universe shared a fan-made render of the S26 Ultra, claiming the actual design is not much different.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra design says a lot about the upcoming phone

Ice Universe has shared a fan-made render of S26 Ultra on X (formerly Twitter). It would’ve been different if he shared the image, saying it could be one of the designs for S26 Ultra; however, he ended up saying this is likely close to the actual design of the upcoming ‘Ultra’ slated to launch early next year.

As you can see, there’s a lot happening on the back panel. Instead of three camera lenses lying in the top-left corner of the rear panel without a bump, there’s a bump that consolidates these sensors now. For reference, this takes the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra design closer to that of the Galaxy Z Fold7 5G that was launched earlier this month.

Having a camera bump on the back has both pros and cons. For starters, the S26 Ultra is speculated to be thinner than the S25 Ultra at 7.x mm. It is likely to be slightly wider and taller than its predecessor, while shedding a few grams off its weight. Overall, S26 Ultra will have a slimmer profile, followed by a few millimeters (3mm, speculated) reserved for the bump.

Nobody said no to a few more upgrades

Previous updates on the S26 Ultra dictate the phone will see a 10% increase in battery capacity (from 5,000 to 5,500mAh) and will have 60 or 65W fast charging, up from 45W. This would make S26 Ultra a lucrative choice. There’s also the Snapdragon 8 Elite2 (of course) on board at a whopping 4.74GHz, thanks to Galaxy AP, and it will have One UI 8.5 taking care of the software processing. We have heard an Exynos 2600 variant is being tested as well, although I wouldn’t give it much gravitas as of now.

In any case, Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra 5G will arrive early next year at Unpacked 2026 alongside vanilla S26 and S26+, unless Samsung decides to change the moniker on its ‘Plus’ variant.
