Earlier today, the official Samsung India account tweeted the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus India launch which is this Wednesday, April 19. But since then, the tweet has been taken down. However, we did capture what the tweet said:
“India, get ready to #UnboxYourPhone! Samsung #GalaxyS8 #GalaxyS8Plus, India launch on 19th April 2017”.
The phones have been up for pre-registration since few weeks, but the availability and pricing will only be clarified after this event next week.
What’s different with the Indian variant?
In the past, we’ve seen how Exynos chips have performed a lot better than the Qualcomm ones, and well, that’s what’s going to power the Indian Galaxy S8s. Samsung is launching the new phones with Exynos 8895 processor.
Pricing
Samsung is yet to officially announce the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ pricing details for India. Verizon Wireless has had the lowest rates, at $720 (around Rs. 46,700) for the Galaxy S8 and $840 (roughly Rs. 54,500) for the Galaxy S8+. The prices go higher with other carriers and retailers. We can expect the pricing of the handsets to be roughly similar to that of the US rates.
Features
There are quite a few things to talk about the new Galaxy S8. We’ve already done that in an earlier post, be sure to check it out.
