Samsung is working on two different tablets – Galaxy Tab A2 being the budget offering and Galaxy Tab S4 being the premium one.  The later one has been in news for a long time thanks to ever-growing leaks and rumors. Around 3 weeks ago, the first ever render images of the tablet surfaced online. According to those images, the device didn’t have any home button and fingerprint sensor as well.

The primary question which arises after looking those render is what type of security measures is going to come apart from the inbuilt software one that comes with the Android. It seems like the brand is going to integrate both IRIS scanner as well as face recognition feature.

A new report is emerging from SamMobile which confirms the presence of both the biometric security measures. The publication has extracted an instructional video from the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4’s firmware. The animation is the same which you’ll find in Galaxy S9/S9+ while setting up the intelligent scan. Speaking of an intelligent scan, it is the combination of both IRIS scanner as well as face recognition. If by any chance one does not work, the other one will come to play. For instance, at night the face recognition doesn’t work perfectly, in this case, the IRIS scanner will be used. Same goes for the harsh sunlight condition, the face recognition will come to play in this scenario.

Previously, some images of the tablet’s accessories leaked showing us the design from the bottom and the back. In addition, we saw some of the accessories like the optional keyboard and a stylus pen. Speaking of design, the tablet will boast thin bezels thanks to the absence of the home button. The tablet will directly compete with the likes of the Apple’s iPad.

Also, the tablet was spotted in the benchmark listing revealing key specifications of the device. To recall, Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 will sport a 10.5-inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixel. There is no solid information when it comes to the aspect ratio of the display. The tablet will be powered by a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chipset paired with Adreno 540. If you’re not aware, the 835 is the Qualcomm’s last year flagship processor which actually is quite powerful. Since this is the older chipset there is a chance that the brand goes ahead with the Exynos 9810 chipset.

The Galaxy Tab S4 will boast a 12MP rear camera and an 8MP front selfie shooter. When it comes to storage, the tablet will have a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. All of this should run on the latest version of Android i.e. Android 8.1 Oreo. For now, we can say that it will come packed with IRIS scanner as well as face recognition. We’re expecting this tablet to make an appearance at an event on August 9 alongside the upcoming Galaxy Note 9. In addition, the tablet might see its announcement at IFA in Berlin. One thing we’re sure is more leaks and images are coming our way since the Galaxy Tab S4 is nearing its launch.
