After quite a lot of waiting, we have the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold, the most futuristic phone from Samsung that we ever saw. A change from the dual-folding Galaxy Z Fold, Samsung just launched its first-ever triple-folding phone. It is the epitome of what Samsung could bring on-board in the foldable segment. Well, we got some hardware upgrades, software, and specs on-board that make TriFold a must-have.

Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold specs & features

The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold is a triple-folding phone, of course. One of the major upgrades that Samsung has brought on-board is the dual titanium hinges that make it easier to fold. It rivals Huawei’s Mate XT and XTs, the only competitors of sorts, with a cover display and two sides of a folding screen that fold into one another.

The Galaxy Z TriFold brings a 6.5” cover display with 2,520 × 1,080 pixels resolution, 21:9 aspect ratio, and 1 to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate on-board. The display lights up at a whopping 2,600 nits peak brightness and comes paired with Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, the top of the protection your phone can get. The primary panel is a 10” display, the largest on a folding phone. The specs include a 1,584 × 2,160 pixels resolution, 4:3 ratio, a Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X panel, and a total area of 305.4cm².

The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold comes with the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, which goes one generation behind the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. There’s 16GB of RAM, and you can choose between 512GB or 1TB of storage.

On the software end, the triple-foldable phone runs Android 16-based One UI 8, which offers software features and clever multitasking options. Samsung has refined the OneUI 8 to make the most of triple fold, including the first to pick up standalone Samsung DeX, which is a desktop-like interface on your foldable phone.

Being a triple-folding device, the device carries a weight of just 309 grams. It has a thickness of 12.9 mm when folded. In fact, it is quite slim when you check out the device when completely unfolded, at just 3.9mm at the thinnest point, except for the doubly protruding camera sensors.

The phone brings IP48 protection against water and dust, the same as Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7. An advanced aluminum frame makes up the structure that allows the phone to exist in the first place.

On the optics front, we have a triple vertically stacked rear camera setup. It comprises a 200MP primary ISOCELL HP2 snapper, 10MP 3x telephoto, and a 12MP ultrawide lens. Two 10MP snappers take care of all your selfies, located on the cover display and the folding display.

Next up, we have the battery pack. Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold packs a 5,600mAh battery split into three, coupled with 45W wired and 15W wireless charging support. Samsung has been capping the charging capacities on its phones for ages at 25W. This is the first foldable phone to pack in a 45W charging tech. Other specs include Bluetooth v5.4, GPS, tri-band Wi-Fi 7, stereo speaker setup, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, NFC, USB-C, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging.

Pricing, availability, and colors

Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold is available in a single Crafted Black. It will be available for sale on Friday–December 12, in South Korea. After that, we will see TriFold’s availability in the US, the UAE, Singapore, Taiwan, and China sometime in the first quarter of 2026. Soon after, we will see Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold’s availability in other markets. Unfortunately, Samsung hasn’t revealed the pricing for Z TriFold yet so you will have to check back on True-Tech for more information.
