Samsung Project Moohan XR headset launch date announced

Samsung’s next-gen Galaxy Event is happening on October 21, and we can’t keep calm as the much-anticipated Project Moohan is releasing at the event. For the unversed, Samsung has been working on a virtual reality/ augmented reality (XR) headset for a while. It will be cheaper than Apple Vision Pro and will be based on Android XR OS, and in fact, it is the first product built on this platform.

Samsung Project Moohan is a venture by Samsung, Google, and Qualcomm, combined, allowing the XR headset to exist and scale across different form factors, embracing immersive AI for everyday experiences. We got our hands on the XR headset in 2024, although Samsung made sure it was just a display unit and not to be used.

Sources suggest the South Korean giant could rename the device as ‘Galaxy XR’, which aligns with the nomenclature it uses for all its devices. In any case, Project Moohan is set to be a groundbreaking product that will channel Samsung into the scalable Android XR platform, and we can’t be more intrigued than that.

Unfortunately, we don’t know much about the headset. We have seen the product photos, and the event banner shows a similar orbital view of the headset as well.

In any case, watch out for the “Worlds Wide Open” event on Tuesday, October 21, at 10 pm South Korean local time or October 22nd at 6 am if you stay in the UAE or 7.30 am in India.
