Quite recently, Samsung conferred about the return of the Galaxy Fold and a scheduled re-launch sometime in September. However, a detailed blog on Samsung’s news platform shares further elaboration over what new design changes the upcoming Samsung foldable phone is back with. A quote from their post: “Earlier this year, we announced Galaxy Fold—Samsung’s first foldable device, and the beginning of an entirely new mobile category. Since then, we’ve made improvements to Galaxy Fold to ensure consumers have the best possible experience.”
Right off the bat, we observe the protective layer over the flexible screen, which now amplifies throughout the panel to cover the entire screen, and only be tucked under the panel for structural durability.
Furthermore, the bottom and the top hinges have been materially reinforced (as claimed), through supplementary metallic layers and protection caps integrated over the connections under the display. Overall, these parts help make the entire form of the phone more rigid.
Lastly, to avoid the collection of debris and dust particles, Samsung has reduced the spacing between the body of the phone and the hinge. It was one of the most vital flaws that let debris in, causing a ruckus throughout the display of the device.

With such an expensive phone and a project so ambitious as to bring the future to present, Samsung sure has worked tremendously hard on the Galaxy Fold. However, after multiple delays from the previously committed return date, we deeply hope that the upcoming Samsung foldable phone (Galaxy Fold) phone is as good as promised, and more durable than ever to be considered a daily companion.
Knowing Samsung’s great track record with customer service, from the days of the blasting Galaxy Note 7, when they refunded all the consumers and accepted the blame, we can imagine how hard Samsung will work towards improving their devices again, and to commit to their loyal consumers.
