Samsung Galaxy F42 5G has dropped on GeekBench after making its entry on both Wi-Fi Alliance and Bluetooth certification. Apparently, the Galaxy F42 5G bearing model number SM-E426B sports a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC under the hood. Apparently, the device is likely a rebranded Samsung Galaxy A22 5G. However, a different school of rumors has it that the phone could be a rebranded Galaxy M42 5G which has a Snapdragon 750G instead but the latter is unlikely.
Talking about the GeekBench listing, the device managed to score 559 points on single-core and 1719 points on the multi-core test. It will have a 6GB RAM (based) along with some other RAM and storage options to go with. The device runs on the latest Android 11-powered OneUI 3.1 out-of-the-box.
The chipset mentioned as S96801AA1 is an octa-core chipset with 2 cores clocked at 2.20GHz and 6 cores at 2.00 GHz. Samsung Galaxy F42 5G has already arrived on Bluetooth SIG and Wi-Fi Alliance where it has v5.0 and dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi bands covered.
According to other specifications that the phone could carry if it is a rebranded Galaxy A22 5G, it is likely to get a 6.6-inch FHD+ 90Hz display with a waterdrop-shaped notch. There’s a 48MP triple rear camera and an 8MP selfie shooter on-board. The device has a 5,000 mAh battery under the hood with 15W charging support. The device will pack in a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Other details that the Samsung Galaxy F42 5G could pack in up to 128GB of storage and up to 8GB of RAM. It will pack in a USB-C 2.0 port with GPS support which includes BDS, Galileo, Glonass, and A-GPS. It will carry a 3.5mm headphone jack as well.
We will still have to wait for more information on Samsung Galaxy F42 5G. The phone is likely to arrive soon as certifications from Bluetooth SIG and Wi-Fi Alliance among others hints at its imminent launch.
