AMD has been planning to launch the next generation of its Ryzen processors, which will be based on Zen 4 architecture, at the CES 2022 taking place next month.

This is despite the fact that CES 2022 might be canceled as major companies have started backing out of the event. Regardless, the show organizers have said that they are going ahead with their in-person event.

Talking about the AMD Ryzen Gen 4 processors, the information about its launch was shared by their CTO Mark Papermaster. Mark gave an interview with Forbes where he said that AMD will launch “some” products at CES 2022 while others will be revealed throughout the year.

We have seen that AMD reveals its Ryzen mobile products at the CES every year so it should not be a surprise if we see Ryzen CPUs based on Zen 4 architecture at the event.

Talking about the things that we can expect from the AMD Ryzen Gen 4 processors, the company is known to be switching to 5nm architecture. This means that AMD is quite a long way ahead of Intel in this department as they are still on 10nm architecture.

There were reports comparing the Ryzen Zen 4 processors to the Zen 3 processors and claiming that the newest processors would be up to 30% faster compared to their predecessors. However, we will see that once the processors come to reality.

AMD is reportedly RDNA 2 cores as well for its integrated graphics which will improve the GPU department of these Gen 4 processors as well. There will be new motherboards to support these CPUs as well and they will support PCIe 5.0 as well as DDR5 RAM.

It is also being said that the CES 2022 unveiling of the Zen 4 Ryzen processors will just be an announcement and the actual launch will take place later this year. On that note, we also know that the event will take place on January 4 at the pre-CES live stream.
