The upcoming smartphone release from Google is codenamed ‘Sargo’ or say Google Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 XL Lite. According to a new update, both these smartphones will be available in the United States with Verizon as soon as early spring of 2019.

Rumors about these two “Lite” versions of standard Pixel 3 & 3 XL devices started a few weeks ago when leakster OnLeaks posted renders for both followed by a Russian tech blog. Further, it was also teased in ARCore released last week.

As the name suggests, both Google Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 XL Lite will be a ‘Lite’ version of the standard third-gen Pixel devices released in October 2018. It will be Google’s first attempt targeting mid-range smartphones after it rolled out Nexus 5X back in 2015 at $379.

As per the specifications, it is quite reasonable that the mid-range Lite versions of third-gen Pixels will have mid-range specs ranging from Snapdraong 670 to 710 SoC. Both the devices will have 4GB of RAM while the internal storage will be as little as 32GB since most of the iPhones with the same internal storage are priced at a middle tier between $400 to $500.

Also, users will experience a number of shortcomings in terms of specs although the camera department will remain unaffected because Pixel devices are known for their prowess in photography. Both the smartphones will have a single 12MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera similar to their larger versions. Talking about the screen size, the Pixel 3 Lite will feature a 5.5-inch while its XL version will get a 6-inch display with no notch but a taller bezel which makes it look pretty ugly (see renders).

Moving on, both the smartphones will be priced at $400 to $500 as said and Verizon will be the first carrier to roll it out according to the source. Let’s see how it actually pans out since the buyers will have to be literally Pixel enthusiasts and will have to make fewer compromises in order to use a Lite version if they can’t go for a standard version.
