vivo executive praises comfort and design in early trial
vivo Product Manager Han Boxiao has officially confirmed the development of the Vivo Vision headset. In a recent statement, he revealed that the company has set up an MR experience zone, where he personally tested the device and came away impressed. Han described the headset as extremely comfortable to wear, thanks to its exceptionally lightweight design. While Vivo hasn’t disclosed the exact weight, he compared the comfort to that of wearing Apple’s AirPods Max headphones.
He also praised the headset’s design as “stunning, minimalist, elegant, and refined,” with a flagship-level finish. The Vivo Vision was first showcased at the Boao Forum for Asia in March 2025, offering industry insiders an early look at its appearance.
Although Han didn’t share many technical details, he said viewing panoramic photos from the upcoming Vivo X200 Ultra on the headset was “truly breathtaking.” He added that preparations for the official launch are already underway.
vivo joins expanding global mixed reality race
The news comes amid growing competition in the mixed reality market. Apple launched its Apple Vision Pro in February 2024, marking a major step in high-end XR (extended reality) technology. Samsung has also confirmed its entry into the segment with Project Moohan, an Android XR-powered headset expected later this year.
Well-known industry tipster Digital Chat Station has described the vivo Vision MR Headset – Explorer Edition as the first Apple Vision Pro–style mixed reality device from a major smartphone manufacturer. He suggested that the product aims to deliver an immersive and effortless user experience, with its release “fast approaching.”
