- Xiaomi 16 Global has been spotted on EEC listing with model number aligning with a previous IMEI database.
- It is expected to launch in Q1 2026, however, as customary, the Chinese variant will launch by the end of September this year.
- Xiaomi 16 Series is expected to become the first of models with Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 SoC under the hood.
It seems like the Xiaomi 16 global is taking shape as it is expected to launch soon. Before that, we will get our hands on Chinese variant as it launching by the end of September this year.
As a tradition, Xiaomi will roll out the Xiaomi 16 series in China with the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 SoC — once the chipset is out in September, followed by global rollout sometime early next year. Apparently, a global variant of the Xiaomi 16 has just made it to EEC certification without sparing any specifications whatsoever. Let’s take a bit of a deeper dive to know what’s happening.
Xiaomi 16 Global Will Be Powered By Snapdragon 8 Elite 2
Xiaomi 15 was launched in September last year in China, followed by its global launch happening in March 2025 alongside Xiaomi 15 Pro. While the global variant took almost six months to arrive, the EEC certification for the same was spotted in May 2024 itself. Now that we are well into July 2025, the EEC certification for the global Xiaomi 16 has appeared, carrying model number 25113PN0EG, signaling a launch timeline at least for the global debut.
The phone bearing model number 25113PN0EG doesn’t reveal the actual marketing name, although a previous IMEI database listing confirmed the connection between the model number and Xiaomi 16 global. Moreover, the Indian and Chinese variants of Xiaomi 16 are dubbed as “25113PN0EI” and “25113PN0EC”, respectively, proving the correlation.
Back to the Xiaomi 16 series, the vanilla variant is expected to host the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 SoC. In fact, we are quite confident Xiaomi 16 will take the title of first smartphone powered by the upcoming flagship chipset, just as last year’s. Unfortunately, we are less fortunate when it comes to Xiaomi 16 specs. Given the countless rumors, we could at least draw a rumored specs sheet, which is as follows:
- 6.3” RGB OLED panel with 2K resolution
- Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 SoC
- 7,000mAh battery
- 50MP 1/1.3” primary, a 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP periscope telephoto rear triple camera setup
- HyperOS 3.0 powered by Android 16
Xiaomi 16’s release is expected to happen in September in China, followed by a global debut in Q1, 2026. This will be the only variant available outside its home country, where it has the Xiaomi 16 Pro and Xiaomi 16 Ultra as well. We could see an ‘Ultra’ rolling out with the vanilla variant as well, although let’s cross our fingers and hope for the best.
