Xiaomi EV had an amazing 2025 with more than 400K units sold. Cut to now, the EV-making wing at Xiaomi is projecting to sell over half a million units in 2026, a major leap from its already high numbers we came across last year.

Xiaomi EV estimates to sell half a million units in 2026

According to Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, the Chinese EV maker is estimated to deliver 550,000 EVs in 2026, which is around ~46K units a month. To put things into perspective, 2025 was a great year for Xiaomi, as it sold more than 350,000 electric cars across its catalogue. In fact, December 2025 turned out to be the best year, with more than 50,000 units sold, for which the breakup will be available as a part of the official China Passenger Car Association report.

550K units is a big number, so much so that it is approximately 34% higher than what Xiaomi sold last year. It is a feat to achieve, given Xiaomi EV is relatively new in the market, dated March 2021, and already, it has sold over a million cars cumulatively. Also, Xiaomi has to fight against all odds, be it Tesla or other popular EV makers in China, and even so, it rose to popularity given the brand, the design, and the features it brings to the table.

For comparison, BYD sold over 2.2 million EV units in 2025, while Tesla took the second position at 1.6 million units.

In 2026, it is predicted to deliver more than half a million units, and that can only be possible if Xiaomi channels everything to keep the momentum going. For this, Xiaomi EV is working on a facelift of the XU7 sedan, followed by an executive variant for luxury. There are extended-range five-seater and seven-seater versions of SUVs.

Xiaomi EV launch timeline for 2026

When it comes to the launch timeline, the facelifted SU7 and seven-seater SUV would arrive in the first half of this year, followed by the executive SU7 and five-seater SUV in the second half of 2026. With a properly laid-out launch timeline, the Chinese EV maker could keep the momentum and marketing going, building on the global EV market.
