A post on Chinese social media giant Weibo bares every detail about the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 9 although take it with a pinch of salt. The upcoming smartphone features a 6.4-inch 1080p AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 19:9 and yes, there is a waterdrop notch to it too resembling that of OnePlus 6T.

Further, the phone has a similar front side as OnePlus 6T and it’s rear end resembles Huawei P20 Pro with a triple camera setup arranged in an array of dual and single sensors vertically aligned with a LED flash. The device will feature an in-display fingerprint scanner that works with light that emits from the sensor towards the ridges on a finger to allow access to the user.

Moving on, the device packs in the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 or 8150 octa-core chipset with X24 LTE modem which is kind of fishy since Mi 9 was rumored to feature a 5G support (X50 Modem) but hey, its Xiaomi, it can launch a 5G edition of Xiaomi Mi 9 too so chill.

The phone will capture stunning images with its front 24.8MP IMX576 camera which the back is populated with a 48MP IMX586 main snapper, the 12MP secondary sensor (probably a wide-angle or telephoto) and a third 3D Time-of-Flight (TOF) sensor. It is speculated to run on MIUI 10-based Android Pie 9.0 which is the latest in all flagship and mid-range smartphones.

By dimensions, it is 81.55x75x7.6mm which is still a thin smartphone and the photos reveal it has a tiny bezel at the front which is another plus point too. It packs in a 3,500 mAh Li-Ion battery companied by 32W Quick Charging 4.0 and has a fast charging capability but does not expect wireless charging.
