At the August 10 launch event, Xiaomi didn’t just unveil the futuristic Mi Mix 4 but it also released the duo Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 and Mi Pad 5 Pro paired with flagship-grade chipsets and awesome displays.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 fetches a price tag of CNY 1,999 (or $310) for its 6GB+128GB variant while the 256GB variant goes on sale at CNY2,299 (or $355). On the other hand, the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro goes on sale with 6GB+128GB at CNY2,499 (or $385). There’s a mid-storage 6GB+256GB variant at CNY2,799 (or $430) and finally, the topmost variant at 8GB+256GB is available at CNY3,499 ($540) and it has 5G capability.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 and Mi Pad 5 Pro Specifications

The Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 has a Wi-Fi only variant while the Pro variant arrives with both Wi-Fi and a 5 G-powered model powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC. Although the Pad 5 gets a slightly toned-down Snapdragon 860 SoC, both the devices have flagship-grade chipsets and that’s not to forget for sure.

Talking about the display tech, both the high-end tablets pack in an 11-inch IPS LCD panel boasting a 1600×2560 pixels resolution. The display is a 10-bit panel capable of producing 1B+ colors. There’s HDR10 and Dolby Vision on-board the tablets. There’s a 120Hz refresh rate on both devices. The brightness goes up to 500 nits and supports TrueTone technology that adjusts both the brightness and colors based on the ambient light.

Next up, the front camera holds an 8MP module on both devices. The Pad 5 packs in a single 13MP shooter; the Pro 5G packs in 50MP plus 5MP ultrawide while the Pro Wi-Fi brings a 13MP primary and a 5MP ultrawide shooter. Both the Pro variants have a dual rear camera setup as said.

Moving on, we have an 8,720 mAh battery on the vanilla version with a 33W fast charging tech. On the contrary, the Pad 5 Pro is rated at 8,600 mAh battery and has a 67W fast charging tech up its sleeves. The battery lasts for up to 8 hours on a single charge.

The tab weighs 510 grams and it is extremely thin at 6.86mm. About the software, the device runs on the latest Android 11 with an MIUI V12.5 on-board along with multi-screen support for more than 300 apps and more. There’s a four-speaker setup that counts two on the top and two at the bottom and is tuned by Dolby Atmos for a better sound experience.
