As we are about to enter the year 2023, there’s already a series of smartphones that are awaiting their launches. We have been hearing about the Xiaomi Redmi K60 series for a while now and with the latest update, the picture is getting clearer every day. Per the latest intel, the Xiaomi Redmi K60 series is slated to launch in China sometime in January 2023. Moreover, the vanilla version is likely to get the latest chip while K60 Pro will stick to an older one.
Xiaomi Redmi K60 Series Launching In January 2023
As per the inputs from some Chinese sources and compiled by My Drivers, the Xiaomi Redmi K60 series is expected to launch in January 2023 probably before Chinese New Year which falls on January 22.
The series comprises a vanilla K60, a K60 Pro, and a slightly watered-down K60E that will likely launch in China followed by their global launch sometime later although dates for both aren’t available at the moment. Reports suggest that the trio has already undergone mass production, hinting that their launch date is almost in sight.
Xiaomi Redmi K60 Series Rumored Specifications
What’s intriguing here is the fact that Xiaomi Redmi K60 is likely to upgrade to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC while the K60 Pro (which should’ve been technically the PRO-vest) will stick to the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.
There’s a possibility that the records for both were interchanging meaning Pro will get the SD8 Gen2 instead, we will have to wait for benchmarks to arrive to lay a concrete word on it. Additionally, sources suggest there’s up to 12GB of RAM which can materialize given the fact that many flagship Android phones have opted for it at the time of writing this.
The Redmi K60/ Pro will gain 30W fast wireless charging which is it’s first so that’s something you can flaunt. Additionally, there’s 67W fast charging on the clock and a 120Hz refresh rate on a 2K display among other specs. A report went on to state that the Redmi K60 is likely packing a 6.67” display with a punch-hole, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and a 5,500mAh battery under the hood.
According to MySmartPrice, the K60E, on the other hand, will likely pack in a Snapdragon 870 SoC as we have seen it before making the headlines too. It appeared on Geekbench recently scoring 961 and 3123 points on single-core and multi-core tests respectively. For the unversed, the Redmi K40/K40s uses the same processor as well. Another probable chipset that could make it on K60E is the Dimensity 8200 SoC. It will be a sight to behold to see which chipset K60E ends up with.
We aren’t done just yet. We have intel that Redmi K60 will gain a 64MP snapper at the back. It will come with 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro sensor too while the front, housed in a punch-hole, will have a 16MP shooter.
Just to summarize, the Redmi K60 Series is launching sometime in January 2023. Most probably, the launch will happen before Chinese New Year when at least three devices will make their debut.
