The Redmi series has been doing wonders for Xiaomi by targeting the budget segment that makes for the highest sales for the company. A variant of the Redmi Note 5 has now leaked online and the details include its specifications and a look at its retail box.
ITHomes has provided the image of the retail box and the name mentioned on the bright red box is “Note 5A”. There is a possibility that Xiaomi will be launching the Redmi Note 5 series with multiple phones and this Note 5A could be a less-premium variant. This is just a thought and the real thing can turn out to be entirely different.
Coming straight to the leaked specifications of the Note 5A, they have been provided by a Twitter tipster who has sourced the information from a Weibo post. According to the leaked information, the phone will come powered by a Snapdragon 625 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. The display is said to be of 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1920 x 1080.
The Snapdragon 625 processor has proven itself in many of the mid-range Android smartphones from last year by providing a balanced performance and an insane battery backup. However, the processor is now a generation old and many newer chips are already available in the market.
Some of the details of Note 5A’s camera have also been leaked. The information provided reveals that the phone would come with a dual camera setup on the back with a 12MP OV12A10 sensor and a 13MP OV12880 sensor. On the other hand, the front camera would be a 5MP Samsung S5K5E8 sensor. No further details of the camera were provided for now.
The two things about the Note 5A – its specifications and the retail box – have leaked simultaneously and it indicates that the launch of the phone is not that far. Xiaomi can announce the phone first in China in the coming months without any detail on the launch dates.
A few details of the Redmi Note 5 had also leaked recently and the phone would be more or less the same as the Note 5A. It was tipped to come with a 5.5-inch FHD display and come powered by a Snapdragon 630 processor and 4GB of RAM. A 16MP camera on the back and a 13MP front camera were reported for the phone along with a battery capacity of 3790mAh. It would come with MIUI 9 running out of the box with an expected price of $200.
