There are new rumors about upcoming smartphones every day and iQOO Z5 unfortunately, wasn’t an exception. Following the September 23rd launch, the iQOO Z5 is now available in China as a successor to iQOO Z3 with a larger display, a better chipset, and new storage options along with plans to arrive in India a few days later.

iQOO Z5 Pricing and Availability

When it comes to iQOO Z5 pricing and availability, the device is available in three major colorways i.e. Gradient Blue, Dark Blue, and White. The Blue variant opts for a ridged back while the other two colorways are flat matte. The base variant with an 8GB+128GB trim is available for CNY 1,899 or $293; the highest trim with a 12GB+256GB variant goes on sale at CNY 2,299 or $355 while the mid-trim, the 8GB+256GB variant is available at CNY 2,099 or $324.

It’s availability in China will commence on September 28 for shipping although the pre-orders have already begun. Also, iQOO will introduce the iQOO Z5 in India on September 27 as confirmed by the OEM itself.

iQOO Z5, as the name suggests, is a direct successor to last year’s iQOO Z3 but with certain upgrades.

The iQOO Z5 specifications include a 64MP triple rear camera setup where the primary snapper is flanked with an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro sensor. Selfie shooter mounted on iQOO Z5 is a 16MP sensor placed in a punch-hole cut-out right in the center of the top bezel.

There’s a larger 5,000 mAh battery under the hood that belittles Z3’s 4,400 mAh battery. The charging tech is capped at 44W now.

The phone runs on Android 11-powered OriginOS 1.0 which is iQOO’s go-to UI in China albeit the international variant should receive FuntouchOS 12 once it arrives on September 27.

iQOO Z5 arrives with a Snapdragon 778G SoC clocked at 2.4GHz max frequency and with Adreno 642L taking after the graphics. There’s no card slot though but you have a base variant at 128GB storage and it goes up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 with up to 12GB of RAM. The phone gets a larger 6.67-inch IPS LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10 compliant display. Although many of the display-related specifications are the same as Z3 but Z5 has a larger display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and 1080×2400 pixels resolution i.e. FHD+.

Connectivity features on iQOO Z5 include GPS, USB Type-C, Wi-Fi ac with dual-band support, and Bluetooth v5.2 compatible with LE, A2DP, aptX HD, and aptX Adaptive. You also get a 3.5mm headphone jack with the device. Finally, you also get a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a stereo speaker setup that makes up the device’s specifications.
