- iQOO is working on a new flagship phone powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9500 SoC.
- The phone is likely to launch in China only and with have a 8,000mAh battery, 6.83" 2K OLED panel, and IP68/IP69 rating.
- Speculations suggests it could be iQOO 15T or a phone under Neo11 Series, although the former seems more likely.
There’s another iQOO flagship phone in the works, and it will be based on the Dimensity 9500 SoC, rolling out for the Chinese market. Well, there’s a lot of buzz whether it’s an iQOO 15 series phone or a Neo11 series; however, tipster Digital Chat Station has spilled some beans on the purported iQOO flagship phone specs that you can check out here.
Purported iQOO flagship phone key details leaked
Without naming the device, tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) has taken it to Weibo, a Chinese microblogging website, to discuss a new phone in the works. With a Dimensity 9500 flagship SoC under the hood, the phone is typically rated with a 7,845mAh (marketed as ~8,000mAh) battery pack. There’s an IP68+IP69 rating onboard for protection against water, splashes, and dust.
The post mentions a 6.83” 2K OLED flat display on-board, with a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor mounted on top and a metal frame cladding, possibly with a glass back, since we are talking about a flagship phone here.
Reports suggest the phone could be an iQOO 15T or an iQOO Neo 11 series; however, given the speculations that the latter comes with a built-in cooling fan (and this one doesn’t), we are pivoting more towards the iQOO 15T, although I would give it a pinch of salt before confirming.
One of the biggest features we will see in the speculated iQOO flagship phone is the 200MP primary camera. It won’t be the first device to feature that giant camera lens, ask Samsung, but it is still a feature that only a handful of models use. Apple is in talks with Sony and/or Samsung to feature a 200MP telephoto cam, although the release date is set in 2028, and that’s way too far.
In any case, iQOO’s flagship phone is expected to make its debut next month, i.e., May. It uses the same chipset as the upcoming OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra and Xiaomi Redmi K90 Max, and we have the ultimate competition here. Again, this is likely a China-only smartphone, and thus, the world might never see what it brings on board unless iQOO wants to.
