  • Apple iPhone 17 prices could see hike soon, as per a reputable tipster.
  • Turns out the phone could face the wrath of increasing memory costs but it could be the start of such hikes given iPhone 18 series is rolling out soon.
  • As of now, Apple hasn't confirmed the hike, however, if it is true, India and a few other markets will be heavily impacted.

The iPhone 17 prices might go up before the iPhone 18 series hits the shelves. Turns out Apple is allegedly considering hiking the price tags on the iPhone 17 as early as Monday, August 10. Although nothing is set in stone, the intel comes from a reputable tipster that could give more gravitas to the story.

iPhone 17 price hike could arrive on August 10

According to tipster Fixed Focus Digital via Weibo, iPhone 17 prices could see a hike. In fact, we are talking about a hike in the range of 15% to 30% on the standard iPhone 17, although the tipster is noncommittal on the same line.

Earlier in June 2026, Apple carried out its first round of price hikes across iPads, Macs, and other devices, sparing iPhones, AirPods, Apple Watches, Studio Displays, and a few other accessories. This was tied to the ever-increasing memory costs (and shortages across the globe) as well as supply chain constraints that have grappled every smartphone maker. The Cupertino-based giant absorbed the cost for quite a long time, and the latest intel could be the time when Apple finally gives in.

Unconfirmed iPhone 17 prices may cause a ripple effect

The purported price hike is expected to affect the iPhone 17 only. We don’t have any clarity on where it will happen and, if it does, whether it will affect the entire series. For now, we have iPhone 17 ($799), iPhone 17e ($599), iPhone 17 Pro ($1,099), iPhone 17 Pro Max ($1,199), and finally, iPhone Air ($999). Note that these are US prices, given that iPhone prices across the globe are varied, with India, Turkey, the Philippines, and Brazil facing one of the highest price tags.

If true, we could see the prices spiraling as the iPhone 17 is currently one of the best-selling phones out there. Additionally, the price hike comes just a month before the iPhone 18 Pro series launches, which means even those three phones to arrive could see a bit of a hike as well. Technically, iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and iPhone Ultra will arrive in September, followed by iPhone 18, 18e, and Air* coming a few months later.
