MediaTek, at its recent Analyst Day event, announced that it’s willing to introduce a high-end smartphone with its chipset. The details on which phone from which brand are yet to be cleared, but this is a sure tell that MediaTek is gunning to make its flagship product.
This strategic shift is further bolstered by the appreciation the Dimensity 9300 chipset has received for great performance in devices like the Vivo X100 series. Moreover, this year, MediaTek will launch its latest entry into a new era of innovation in premium smartphone technology—the Dimensity 9300 Plus and the even more potent Dimensity 9400.
Taiwanese chipmaker to announce the Dimensity 9300 Plus, which is the overclocked version of the D9300, and to launch on May 7 in China. Among the first to use it are the Vivo X100s and X100s Pro. This October, MediaTek is finally expected to announce the Dimensity 9400 chip. That one could be a 3nm chip with the upcoming Cortex-X5 CPU core from ARM.
Most of all, the new chip will be found inside the Vivo X200 series. The Oppo Find X8 is going to be powered by the chip and is tipped to be the company’s next flagship. But whether any of these devices will make it into the US market this year is still up in the air.
