The Galaxy S9 series is probably the most sought-after smartphone lineup for 2018. Samsung is due to release the duo sometime in the first quarter and the phones are bound to be subjected to a handful of leaks before it’s officially launched. While we have seen quite a few of them recently, this new leak gives us a better look at the Galaxy S9 and S9+.

Once again, the Chinese social media website Weibo has been the source of a smartphone leak. An image showing both the Galaxy S9 and S9+ kept side-by-side has been leaked on the website. The phones are kept facing downside and they reveal its rear in full glory.

This leaked image is in line with the previous leaks related to the Galaxy S9 and S9+ that detailed about their cameras and fingerprint sensor. If the image is any closer to the reality, the Galaxy S9 will be sporting a single camera while the Galaxy S9+ will have a dual-camera setup. Apple iPhones generally have this kind of setup to encourage people to buy the bigger phone and Samsung has now followed suit.

Launched a couple of months back, the Galaxy Note 8 also has a dual-camera setup but they are placed horizontally with the fingerprint scanner on their right side. The dual cameras on the Galaxy S9+ are placed vertically with the fingerprint scanner below them.

The fingerprint scanner’s position on both the Galaxy S9 and S9+ is below the camera module and in the centre this time. The Galaxy S8 series was criticised much for their awkward fingerprint scanner position on an otherwise fantastic phone. Samsung seems to be following their customers’ feedback and working on it as well.

While the image shows a lot of things, it can’t be completely relied upon, at least now, as the image is flawed. The “Samsung” logo on the Galaxy S9 is a bit too small while the reflections on both the devices are too perfect to be true. Moreover, there is no camera to be seen in the reflections with which this image was taken despite its top angle.

Samsung is expected to announce the two phones sometime around the Mobile World Congress in February. Until then we’re sure of getting many more such leaks to treat our eyes with.
