Going out of its annual update cycle, LG didn’t announce any flagship smartphone in the past two months of 2018. Some previous reports had revealed that the South Korean company has been working to redesign its upcoming smartphone from scratch. A new leak now reveals that the LG G7 could be announced by the end of April or early May featuring an all-new design with a display notch.

As a result of a delayed LG G7 launch, the LG V40 is also reported to get delayed with its launch expected to happen in November this year. The information was provided in a report by ETNews which also mentions that the LG G7 will cost 100,000 KRW ($93/₹6,074) more than the LG G6. As part of a major design overhaul, the next LG flagship will reportedly include an OLED display that will have a notch on the top.

An alleged video of the LG G7 Neo had leaked during the MWC 2018, where LG was originally expected to announce the G7, suggesting that the phone was showcased behind closed doors. The device in the video could be seen having a display notch and a smaller chin bezel, a design language similar to most of the smartphones coming out in the recent times.

On the back, the phone had a glossy finish with its two cameras aligned vertically and placed in the centre above the fingerprint scanner. Based on this leak, some concept renders of the LG G7 Neo were created to have a better look at the alleged LG flagship. Alongside the LG G7, the company might also announce the G7 Plus. While there is no firm information on how the Plus variant will be any different but based on the LG G6 Plus released last year, it can be a slightly upgraded variant of the LG G7 offering more RAM and internal storage.

This time, LG might not have to settle for a yesteryear processor as the G7 models are expected to come equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. It will get up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. For the display, LG will make use of its OLED panel, like the LG V30+, which will measure 6-inch and have a resolution of 3120 x 1440 pixels with the 19.5:9 aspect ratio.
