  • A recent graphic illustration on the App Store, shared by Mark Gurman, depicts a MacBook Pro with Face ID.
  • While many are excited by the possibility of Face ID on a MacBook Pro, some skeptics argue that the Face ID symbol might be an oversight or error.
  • Reports suggest that Apple could be working on integrating Face ID into future Macs, including the MacBook Pro with the upcoming M4 chip.

What if I tell you there’s a MacBook Pro with Face ID support, seems dubious? Well, it hasn’t happened yet, but we might see some changes soon. According to a graphic illustration on the App Store, shared by Mark Gurman, we might see it actually happening and as it turns out, we might not have to wait a lot.

MacBook Pro with Face ID Leaked Illustration

The graphic illustration published on the App Store app shows a bunch of Apple devices including a rather interesting-looking MacBook Pro with a notch on top. It shows a ‘Face ID’ authentication symbol on the screen which is out of place given no Macs have Face ID yet.

Apparently, this has caught the attention of the tech community where it is being treated as a feature we would see in the upcoming MacBook Pro. On the other hand, skeptics exist that say it could be just an oversight since a similar graphic is published on Apple’s website with no Face ID symbol on top.

Many media outlets are also treating it as an ‘oversight’ but given the enormity of the tech giant, I would doubt Apple would release something as such where it doesn’t have any plans to integrate the feature itself.

However, a previous report by Gurman (via MacRumors) mentioned that Apple may be working on Face ID support for iMacs and MacBook Pro in the near future. As Apple is already gearing up for the M4 MacBook Pro coming next month, we could see some air around Face ID around the same time.

For now, let’s keep our fingers crossed and wait for the upcoming MacBook Pro with M4 to be released sometime in October.
