Oakley and Meta have launched the Oakley Meta Vanguard AI-powered smart glasses in India to expand their availability after the product’s global debut at Meta Connect last year. The performance-focused glasses are designed for high-intensity sports and outdoor training, which combine Oakley’s sports eyewear design with Meta’s artificial intelligence technology.

Designed for performance and durability

The Oakley Meta Vanguard is built to remain stable during intense movement and is compatible with cycling helmets and performance headwear. According to Oakley, the glasses carry an IP67 dust and water resistance rating to function reliably in wet, dusty, and high-sweat environments commonly encountered during outdoor training.

The wraparound frame integrates Oakley’s PRIZM lens technology, which enhances contrast and color definition while protecting the eyes from sunlight, wind, and debris. Comfort and fit are supported through Oakley’s Three-Point Fit system, along with three interchangeable nose pads that include options for both low- and high-bridge users for greater fit customization.

Meta AI and fitness features

The Oakley Meta Vanguard integrates Meta AI with Garmin and other supported fitness platforms. Users can access live workout data through voice commands using the Meta AI app. During workouts, the glasses offer spoken performance updates for tracking metrics such as pace and heart rate without looking at a screen. A small peripheral LED indicator also gives visual feedback when performance targets are met.

For Indian users, the Meta AI app supports Hindi. The glasses also support UPI Lite payments and offer an optional celebrity AI voice featuring actor Deepika Padukone, according to company information.

Camera, audio, and battery

The Oakley Meta Vanguard features a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera with a 122-degree field of view that supports hands-free photo and video capture. Video recording supports up to 3K resolution and includes features such as slow motion, hyperlapse, and adjustable stabilization, designed for capturing activity without manual controls.

Audio output is delivered through open-ear speakers, which Meta states are rated 6dB louder than those found on the Oakley Meta HSTN. This is paired with a five-microphone array designed to reduce wind interference during calls and voice interactions for clearer audio in outdoor conditions.

In terms of battery life, the glasses are designed for extended training sessions, with up to nine hours of use and up to six hours of audio playback on a single charge. The included charging case provides up to 36 additional hours of power, while fast-charging support allows the device to reach 50 percent battery in around 20 minutes.

Pricing and availability in India

The Oakley Meta Vanguard collection is priced starting at Rs. 52,300 in India. Availability includes leading optical retailers, as well as stores such as Sunglass Hut and LensCrafters. The lineup is offered in multiple frame and lens combinations, including black and white frames paired with PRIZM 24K, PRIZM Black, PRIZM Road, and PRIZM Sapphire lenses.
