We waited for a long time, and it seems it was quite worth it. Turns out the OnePlus 15 is officially now with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5 SoC under the hood. Topping at 16GB+1TB configuration, the phone brings the best of specs, including AI functionalities, IP69/IP69K rating, Glacier VC, a humongous battery pack, and an amazing display tech on-board. It is certainly nothing short of a major upgrade, and here, we are counting down all the specs it brings to the table.
Before we continue, OnePlus let us take pictures with the OnePlus 15 cameras; and they let us share those with you. Check out how our pictures from OnePlus 15 cameras turned out.
OnePlus 15 pricing and availability

The OnePlus 15 arrives in China on October 28 (Tuesday) on-board the OnePlus website. You can choose between Sand Dune, Misty Purple, and Absolute Black colorways; however, it is currently limited to China only.
About the pricing, the OnePlus 15 is available in five trims. The base is a 12+256GB at CNY 3,999 (EUR482); 16+256GB at CNY 4,299 (EUR519); the mid 12+512GB at CNY 4,599 (EUR555); there’s a 16+512GB trim retailed at CNY 4,899 (EUR590). Finally, we have the 16GB+1TB variant at CNY 5,399 (EUR650), topping the list.
Unfortunately, there’s no update on its global launch yet. There’s speculation that it’s happening on November 13, a few days before iQOO 15 drops as a rival and with a significant lead over Samsung Galaxy S26 Series launching early next year.
OnePlus 15 launches in China with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC
For starters, the OnePlus 15 brings a 6.78” OLED panel on-board with a 165Hz refresh rate. Unfortunately, we don’t see a QHD+ resolution on-board as OnePlus had to use a 1.5K panel to bring increased refresh rate and minimum brightness. The Chinese smartphone maker says it’s not possible (probably yet) to get a QHD+ screen at 165Hz refresh rate and thus, the downgrade compared to last year’s OnePlus 13.
The phone looks great, to be honest…
OnePlus moved to a circular camera island a few years ago, and to be honest, I was never a fan. Even the OnePlus 13 had the same circular camera bump, but it seems OnePlus has really thought it through this time.
With the OnePlus 15, there’s no circular camera bump and instead, we get a squaricle camera bump that looks much more polished. The Chinese OEM also got rid of Hasselblad branding, though, and it is currently using Oppo’s Lumo imaging engine.
Under the hood, we see an all-powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC on-board that has to be the best from Qualcomm yet. It is paired with what OnePlus calls “Glacier VC” cooling that keeps the device cool and calm even when subjected to heavy usage, such as an unending session of PUBG.
A ginormous 7,300mAh battery sends the ripples through the space-time continuum, keeping your device alive for hours even on heavy usage. In fact, OnePlus upgraded from 6,000mAh on the OnePlus 13 to the latest 7,300mAh, which is a massive upgrade. It comes paired with 120W wired charging tech and a 50W wireless charging board.
The camera setup loses Hasselblad branding
OnePlus’ contract with Hasselblad is expiring, and thus, we see Hasselblad branding on-board OnePlus 15 *not there*, of course. Instead, the OnePlus 15 uses the Lumo imaging engine from Oppo that can be potentially renamed to DetailMax once the phone hits the global market next month.
Talking about the specs, we have a 50MP Sony primary flagship snapper, a 50MP 3.5x periscope lens that can accommodate both longer and narrower apertures, and a 50MP ultrawide camera at the back. The front has a 32MP selfie shooter.
OnePlus has made a few lean changes to the camera software along with image and video processing on the OnePlus 15, so that’s a relief. In fact, we have a OnePlus 15 here at True-Tech for testing, and do check out the image results you are looking for.
Moving on with the features, the OnePlus 15 offers an in-display fingerprint scanner, Wi-Fi 7, IR blaster, and USB 3.2 Gen 1, to name a few.
OnePlus Ace 6 makes a debut as well
Well, the OnePlus Ace 6 made its debut with the OnePlus 15 as well. The phone has a 6.83” FHD+ AMOLED 165Hz panel, a 16MP selfie, and a 50MP+8MP rear dual camera setup. It has a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Edition on-board for performance.
The phone brings a mammoth 7,800mAh battery unit under the hood paired alongside 120W wired charging. Of course, Ace 6 is a lite variant and thus, has to trade off a few features here and there. It will be rebranded to OnePlus 15R as it readies for global launch sometime early next year.
