OnePlus may be getting ready to return to compact flagships with the new OnePlus 15T. A leaked image hints at a smaller screen and compact design, showing a change from the brand’s usual larger phones.
OnePlus 15T first look hints at compact flagship
A newly shared image online shows four small phone prototypes, and one might be the OnePlus 15T. It was first posted on Chinese social media platform Weibo and then reported by Notebookcheck, quoting popular tech leaker Digital Chat Station. Only the front of the phones can be seen, but one is thought to be OnePlus’ next compact flagship due to its shape and screen size.
Even though details aren’t official yet, the phone’s design suggests it’s built with premium quality and comes in a smaller size, likely made for those who want something compact without losing speed or features.
A successor to the OnePlus 13T?
If true, the OnePlus 15T will succeed the OnePlus 13T (also called the OnePlus 13s worldwide), which was the brand’s first try at making a powerful phone in a smaller size. The 15T might improve that idea with better hardware and updated features.
Digital Chat Station, who revealed the first leak, also reported that other big brands are working on compact flagship phones, like the Xiaomi 16 series and Vivo X300 lineup. These phones are expected to have major battery boosts, from 6,000mAh to 7,000mAh, which is impressive for smaller devices.
Advanced features in a smaller package
Besides having big battery capacities, upcoming compact phones might also get better fingerprint tech. Leak sources say brands like OnePlus may switch from optical sensors to 3D ultrasonic ones, which are more accurate and reliable. Wireless charging is also being tested for these compact models.
Right now, OnePlus hasn’t officially announced the 15T, and the leaked photo only shows part of the phone, so many details are still unclear. More details should be revealed in the next few weeks.
