OnePlus 2 Gets OxygenOS 3.5.6 Update, Fixing Network Drop Issues

OnePlus 2 owners will soon be getting another update after the OxygenOS 3.5.5 incremental rollout. Whilst the OnePlus 3 and 3T are imminent to receiving a Nougat update, OxygenOS 3.5.6 sadly doesn’t update the OnePlus 2 to Android Nougat, as it’s still based on Marshmallow, and has a different purpose overall.

With the new outlook on the software hand, the Chinese upstart’s main motive here is to quickly fix a rather tremendous bug from OxygenOS 3.5.5, opportunely discovered during the incremental roll out. Though not being received well, the update did bring more stability to the device in terms of the performance and also augmented overall usability. Users didn’t face any major issues except the significant network drops and connectivity issues.  The OxygenOS 3.5.6 HotFix update is subjected to fix the predecessor’s blundered and untidy handiwork: network drop issues, usually with VoLTE carriers such as Reliance Jio.

The roll out is incremental and might hit your device if no bugs are discovered.

The OnePlus 2, being the last year’s flagship from OnePlus, shall definitely be treated to Nougat very soon. The OnePlus 3 and 3T might receive it as a new year’s present, as they sadly didn’t for Christmas.
