  • The phone will reportedly use OnePlus's Glacier Battery Technology to squeeze a larger battery in smaller package.
  • Find X8 Ultra is set to launch sometime early next year in China with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC.

Last year’s Oppo Find X7 Ultra was amazing. No doubt, you must be waiting for its successor aka the Oppo Find X8 Ultra as well. Turns out the phone could be slimmer than its predecessor as disclosed in a video released on Chinese social network Weibo.

The original video posted on Weibo and played by PlayfulDroid features Zhou Yibao — Product Manager for the Oppo Find Series. According to Yibao, the Find X8 Ultra will be slimmer than its predecessor which stands at 9.5mm. Making a phone slimmer than ever before is a massive undertaking as it requires close attention to all components to minimize their spaces and bring down the overall thickness of the device.

Possibly, a reduced camera bulge will add to the USP onboard Find X8 Ultra as per the latest update.  Oppo is slated to use a massive 6,000mAh battery on the X8 Ultra compared to the 5,000mAh pack that we saw on the X7 Ultra. Note that there’s a possibility of a smaller 5,500 mAh battery instead, however, it is still a massive upgrade given the fact that the phone’s thickness is reduced.

Although Yibao didn’t share any specifics, tech enthusiasts were quick to ascertain that Oppo will borrow OnePlus’ Glacier battery technology to power the Oppo Find X8 Ultra. In a demonstration featured by tipster DCS, he showed how a 6,100mAh onboard Ace 3 Pro at 5.51mm was pretty slimmer compared to Ace 2 Pro’s 5,000mAh 6mm battery pack.

Apart from that, the Oppo Find X8 Ultra, being a flagship phone, will surely see a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC under the hood. Plus, it will have a quad-curved 120Hz OLED panel with a resolution of QHD+. A quad-camera setup will sit on the back possibly with a reduced thickness when compared to Find X7 Ultra. There’s a IP68 water and dust resistance on-board as well.

Oppo’s Find X8 Ultra will certainly be a frontrunner in the ‘flagship smartphones’ category in 2025. However, it remains to be seen whether it makes it out of China.
