  • Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is in the works and it is slated to debut in April this year.
  • The phone is speculated to be lighter than Galaxy S25 and thinner as it tries to take on the title of ultra-thin phones.
  • It is powered by a custom 7-core Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC and a 200MP primary dual camera sensor.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge was recently teased at the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event. The phone is speculated to be lighter than the vanilla Galaxy S25 which weighs around 162g. In recent days, we have witnessed some heavy leaks around the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge including its cameras, and battery pack, among others, and here’s what we know so far.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Will Be Lighter Than Vanilla Galaxy S25

The current generation Galaxy S25 weighs 162g. This is still 5-6g less than last year’s Galaxy S24. With that being said, the upcoming Galaxy S25 Edge is speculated to be lighter than S25 which means, it will be less than 162g in weight, according to reputable tipster Ice Universe. This is likely one of its selling points given the phone is trying to be the slimmer and lighter version of its Galaxy S25 siblings. We have a host of ultra-thin phones in the making though.

The lightest flagship phone we had so far from Samsung was Galaxy S10 at 157g. It means the South Korean giant is actually trying to achieve this feat almost after eternity, and it will be a great sight to behold.

Of course, having a lighter phone means Samsung will have to let go of some of the features we have come to know about the Galaxy S25 series. For instance, Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge will let go of its cooling system allowing for a lighter version to take over. The phone may pick up a plastic frame instead of an aluminum one as Samsung attempts to cut down on the weight. Now there you might see a glitch given the S25 Edge is likely to be an expensive model and having a plastic frame comes with its caveat.

Nevertheless, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is said to arrive sometime in Q2 2025 falling in line with what was rumored earlier.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Speculations (Rumored)

Talking about the specs that we have come to know, the Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to be powered by a custom 7-core Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. We will see a 3,900mAh battery under the hood that may raise some questions around the battery backup but hey, it is what it is.

On the optics front, we see a 200MP ISOCELL HP2 sensor making its presence as the primary snapper and yes, there are only two cameras on the back. Another one is likely a 12MP ultrawide snapper completing the dual camera setup.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is likely the size of 158.2 × 75.5 × 5.84mm in dimensions. It remains to be seen if all this information is true to the brim or not. Do check out this space for more Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge updates.
