  • Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to get a tonne of battery upgrades as it prepares for launch early next year.
  • It includes an upgraded 65W fast charging tech and a 5,500mAh battery on-board.
  • It will bring a Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 SoC as the sole chipset unlike the rest of the models under S26 Series.

Speculated to launch early next year, we are hearing a lot about the various Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra battery upgrades. Well, if you are waiting for the S26 Ultra to drop, you could be in for a treat, as the South Korean giant is reportedly “100% confirmed” to feature a faster charging setup compared to the current S25 Ultra. If that’s not all, we could also be in line to receive a backup upgrade. Although this is coming from a tipster, his reputation and the accuracy precede him.

Tipster @chunvn8888 on X (formerly Twitter) said that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra might upgrade from a paltry 5,000mAh to a slightly larger 5,500mAh battery. This is a 10% bump and a lot better when it comes to honing your flagship phone against heavy-duty tasks such as a movie marathon or playing AAA games for hours.

What’s even bigger is the charging support. For ages, Samsung has been equipping its Galaxy S-series Ultra phones with 45W fast charging support. It started in Galaxy S22 Ultra and continued through S25 Ultra, which was rolled out earlier this year. However, there’s a different story for the S26 Ultra, as the phone is likely to get a major upgrade.

We are talking about going from 45W to an awesome 65W wired charging, potentially cutting the charge time by ~15 minutes. It takes 60 minutes for the S25 Ultra’s 5,000mAh battery to charge from 0-100%; however, it would ideally take just 45 minutes for the same battery to juice up with a faster 65W speed. I am assuming this is the best bet given the tipster’s affirmation.

Moving further, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra battery setup includes USB PD PPD charging standard that it has been using for a while. There’s 25W wireless charging, possibly with the new Qi2 standard. Even though it will arrive with a larger battery, we expect the phone to be slimmed down to 7.9mm (speculated) compared to 8.2mm on the S25 Ultra.

Apparently, Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 made its presence known just recently with a whopping 4.74GHz clock speed on its Galaxy AP. The chipset itself is expected to hit 4 million AnTuTu points, as we reported here. Just as in the case of previous iterations, we should see S26 Ultra take on Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 only, while the base and ‘Plus’ variant sticks to a dual chip strategy.

In any case, we are thrilled to see Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra getting all sorts of upgrades that it deserves to be the top-of-the-line model. It is all set to launch early next year at the Unpacked 2026, which is probably happening in January or February 2026. Do check out this page for more updates.
