Highlights
  • The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 is the lightest and thinnest Galaxy Z model to date, measuring just 8.9mm when folded, on par with the Oppo Find N5.
  • It features a Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, up to 16GB RAM, 1TB storage, and ships with Android 16 and OneUI 8.
  • The Fold7 has a 6.5” cover display and an 8” foldable inner screen, both protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2, with an IP48 rating.

Today, at the Unpacked 2025, we got the much-awaited Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7, and we can’t be more excited. Dubbed as the “lightest”, “thinnest” and “most advanced” Galaxy Z so far, the phone brings a lot to the table including a thickness of 8.9mm, making it one of the slimmest foldable phones out there.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 Goes Official: Here are the Specs You Should Know

Probably the USP of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 is its thickness which stands at 8.9mm when folded. That’s equivalent to what Oppo Find N5 offers and to be honest, that’s very slim compared to Galaxy Z Fold6. Of course, something had to go, and that’s where the stylus support got kicked off Z Fold7. Perhaps, the new design looks so refreshing that you’ll actually forget about the stylus whatsoever.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 brings a 6.5” cover display, both larger and better than the Fold6. There’s an 8-inch foldable display with an IP48 rating, although that could’ve been better. The South Korean giant doesn’t want to hide the selfie shooter anymore and instead, it is using a punch-hole cut-out to host its 10MP shooter. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2, which is currently the best in preventing scratches or shattering after a fall.

A New Hinge Holds It All

If you compare Galaxy Z Fold6 and Fold7 side-to-side, you’ll see a significant difference in the thickness. One of the reasons is its Armor FlexHinge and the Armor Aluminum frame, both of which hold both halves of the phone, reaching a thickness of 8.9mm when folded and 4.2mm when open. For context, Oppo Find N5’s thickness lies around the same ballpark, given it is the slimmest foldable out there.

Under the hood, Samsung has borrowed the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy AP from Qualcomm, powering the beast. It is flanked with up to 1TB of storage and 16GB of RAM, along with Android 16-based One UI 8 out-of-the-box. Just like its previous flagships, Z Fold7 also has 7 major Android OS and 7 years of security patch support, making the foldable phone immune for more than half a decade.

Protruding just a bit about the back panel in a two-step setup, there’s a triple rear camera setup. It houses a 200MP ISOCELL HP2 snapper (same as S25 Ultra), a 10MP 3x telephoto, and a 12MP ultrawide snapper.

On the battery front, we have a 4,400mAh battery, the same as Fold6. We expected more from Samsung, given Oppo was able to integrate a 5,600mAh dual-cell battery on its foldable device. Anyway, the phone arrives with a 25W wired, 15W wireless, and 4.5W of reverse wireless charging.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 Pricing

In India, the phone will cost INR174,999/- for the base, INR 186,999/- for the mid-tier and finally, the top-of-the-line trim goes for sale at 210,999/-.
