You are well aware of the Galaxy S9 launch happening on February 2, 2018, ahead of MWC in Barcelona. The Samsung Galaxy S9 will be packing the Snapdragon 845 for the North American markets, whereas, it’ll be having the Exynos 9810 for the others. Since Samsung designs and optimises it’s own SoC for the higher-end devices, it is more likely for it to overcome the Snapdragon counterparts. There has been some clash between the performances of the Exynos 9810 and the Snapdragon 845, but they will still be included in the next flagship.

A renowned leaker from China, Ice Universe revealed the Geekbench listing of an unknown phone running Snapdragon 845 on Twitter. The tweet claims that the Snapdragon 845 in the Galaxy S9 gives “mediocre results” on GeekBench when compared to the Exynos 9810. The Exynos variant is expected to be better, although, no such leak for the Exynos variants yet.

Snapdragon 845

The word “mediocre” used here is too harsh; the Snapdragon 845’s single-core and multi-core score of 2378 and 8132 respectively are way better than that of the Exynos 8895, which held 1954 and 6429 on the previous year’s flagship, Galaxy S8. As mentioned earlier there have been no numbers for the Exynos 9810 on the Samsung Galaxy S9 and hence its difficult to actually compare these numbers with other devices.

It’s better to stay put at this time and wait for more information on the Exynos 9810 and then we’ll be able to see the battle we’ve been waiting for – Snapdragon 845 vs Exynos 9810.
