  • The Vivo X300 series debuts with a custom 200MP Samsung HPB sensor, designed exclusively at the Blue Factory for sharper and more versatile photography.
  • The Vivo X300 Pro introduces the world’s first 200MP telephoto camera with an unmatched CIPA 5.5 stabilization rating, setting a new standard for zoom performance.
  • Both models come with Zeiss-backed optics, custom imaging chips, and a 50MP ultra-clear AF front camera, making them complete imaging flagships from every angle.

Following weeks of speculation, Vivo has officially confirmed the upcoming Vivo X300 series. First and foremost, the company’s product manager, Han Boxiao, has announced that the upcoming flagship lineup will feature a custom-built 200MP Samsung sensor, marking one of the most significant advancements in smartphone camera technology in recent years.

Custom 200MP “HPB” sensor for the Vivo X300 series

Unlike the standard Samsung HP9 sensor, Vivo collaborated with Samsung to develop a new version called HPB, where “B” refers to “Blue,” a nod to Vivo’s “Blue Factory” customization. This exclusive sensor is meant to enhance image quality and low-light performance.

The standard Vivo X300 will use the new HPB sensor for its primary camera. It comes with a wide f/1.4 aperture and supports 200MP images at 23mm and 50MP shots at 50mm. This gives more flexibility and higher clarity for different kinds of shots. Just like the X200 Ultra, it will also use blue glass and Zeiss T coating* to cut down glare and ghosting in photos. The stabilization is also strong with a CIPA 4.5 rating, which is very close to professional level cameras and sometimes better than other flagship phones.

Vivo X300 Pro: Industry-leading telephoto performance

The Vivo X300 Pro takes it further. Here the same 200MP HPB sensor is used but this time for the telephoto camera. Vivo itself calls it the new king of telephoto. It gets an industry leading CIPA 5.5 stabilization, which makes zoom shots much sharper and steady. The phone also comes with a custom focus tracking system to make sure moving subjects are kept in focus.

On top of that, the Pro model has a 50MP LYT828 main sensor with an f/1.57 aperture and gimbals level stabilization. This is especially useful for video recording and low light photography since it offers smooth footage and a wider 100dB dynamic range.

Enhanced processing and front camera upgrades

Both models in the Vivo X300 series are supported by custom pre-processing chips VS1 and V3+, along with a new dual-core setup to restore and reconstruct image quality. The phones will be powered by the Dimensity 9500 chipset that is expected in October, so performance will match the camera upgrades.

The front camera also sees a boost. There is a 50MP Zeiss ultra-clear AF front camera with 92-degree wide-angle lens and autofocus. This makes selfies and video calls sharper and also helps vloggers who want wide and stable shots.

The Vivo X300 series is clearly built for photography. The regular X300 with its custom 200MP HPB sensor and the X300 Pro with the world’s first telephoto setup of its kind show that Vivo is pushing hard in mobile imaging. With Zeiss optics, strong stabilization, and upgraded front cameras, these phones are expected to set a new level for smartphone cameras.
