Xiaomi Civi is here and official. Xiaomi has officially dropped the Mi moniker and the CC lineup has been rebranded to Civi which sounds lit, to be honest. The Chinese smartphone maker has released a single smartphone now so there’s no Pro variant or others at the time of writing this. Xiaomi Civi Pricing and Availability
Xiaomi Civi is now available for pre-sales in China and the availability on both online and offline channels will commence from September 30. The device is available with its base configuration of 8GB+128GB at CNY2,600 ($400) while the higher 256GB variant is up for grabs at CNY2,900. Finally, the highest 12GB+256GB model is up for sale at CNY 3,200. Note that this pricing is for the Chinese market only and the converted amount is for reference.
Xiaomi Civi Specifications
The Xiaomi Civi packs in a 6.55-inch curved OED panel with a 1080p+ resolution. There’s Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support on-board too. According to Xiaomi, the color calibration on Civi is deltaE 0.36 and the display reaches a peak brightness of 950 nits. There’s 240Hz of touch sampling rate as well.
Xiaomi says that the chin on Xiaomi Civi is the thinnest compared to any other smartphone from the company. For context, it comes down to 2.55mm which is truly impressive. The phone weighs at 166grams and with a thickness of just 7mm.
Moving on, the device uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G as the powertrain fabbed at 6mm process by China’s TSMC. The chipset brings four big Cortex-A78 cores. You also get a high-octane Adreno 642L graphics processing unit (GPU) and an X53 5G modem capable of boosting speeds of up to 3.3Gbps. In fact, the Wi-Fi 6E mounted on Civi is able to reach 3.6Gbps which is phenomenal.
Xiaomi Civi is a powerhouse and thus, it has a heat dissipation system too. I am talking about nine-layered graphene that does the job of bringing the temperature down when subjected to a lot of heat. The Adreno 642L GPU has a Variable Rate Shading feature that achieves better performance with minimal image quality loss. You can play games such as Honor of Kings at 60fps without a hassle although most games aren’t made for HRR so keep that in mind.
The rear camera setup will look familiar to a Xiaomi user with a triple camera setup where the primary sensor has a huge lens and a 64MP sensor with pixel binning and f/1.8 aperture (and no OIS) while the other two sensors are 8MP ultrawide with 120-degree FoV and f/2.2 flanked with a 2MP macro that takes the form of two tiny lenses beneath the primary one. Of course, there’s a front-facing camera too with a 32MP model and AF lens.
Xiaomi Civi has a 4,500 mAh battery in the chassis capable of providing 4 hours of backup (as advertised). The 55W wired charging support should fill the battery in just 45 minutes in an ideal condition.
Finally, the device is paired with a USB-C port and a Dolby Atmos with Hi-Res audio and a dual speaker setup.
