Further to a leaked Google roadmap and the nifty-looking renders, the Google Pixel 7a has caught headlines again. This time, it is a video and it does show the upcoming device albeit the video is blurry but real. Here’s the story.

Google Pixel 7a Shows Up On a Blurry Video

The latest update comes from Slashleaks where a video has gone live showcasing Google Pixel 7a. It is likely a Vietnamese unit or based in the country given the set language is Vietnamese. Shown hands-on, the video is a bit blurry but believes me, it is for real and the device is likely to make its debut soon.

A leaked Google roadmap stated that the Pixel 7a release date is sometime around April or May this year. Google holds its annual I/O conference around the same period. It indicates that the phone might arrive at the conference as well.

Talking specifically about the video, the Pixel 7a looks a lot like the Pixel 6a and Pixel 7 series. A metallic strip passed through the camera bump at the back which makes it unrecognizable at once. On the other hand, the front shows otherwise thick bezels, a hefty chin, and a 90Hz refresh rate that was made absolutely clear in the settings itself.

We aren’t aware of all the Google Pixel 7a specifications although rumors mill has a lot of information to offer. The device will get an FHD+ 90Hz screen with a centrally-placed punch-hole snapper. There’s an in-display fingerprint scanner that lets you unlock quickly. You will get dual-SIM support on the device. Along with that, there’s a dual camera setup at the back as evidenced by the leaked video. Finally, there’s wireless charging at a 5W cap among other specs.

A previous report mentioned that Pixel 7a will continue to offer phenomenal performance at the same price as 6a i.e. $449 while adding a few upgrades over the predecessors.

A leaked Google roadmap mentioned that the Pixel 7a will arrive in April/May 2023 followed by the Pixel 8 series in the later part of 2023 probably September followed by the Pixel 8a in early 2024.
